This is a sample taken from a 360° Feedback Report for the COMET/EQ test. This report is used with the COMET questionnaires to add validity by comparing self-assessment with assessment by peers, superiors, and subordinates. Here we only show three patterns (as an example), while a real report would show all of the patterns measured.

Interpreting the graphs is simple: We provide the percentages to give you an idea of how people and scores compare to one another. The exact numbers are not as important as how the scores compare to one another and to the standard group. The white bar at the top is for the standard group. The red bar within the standard group is the range of scores that is typical for this standard group. Roughly two thirds of the standard group scored within the red range. The self assessment is next, followed by the score given by the person's boss, the person's peers (usually co-workers on the same level), and the rest (subordinates and others that you think may have relevant input).

1. Emotional Self-Awareness & State Control

A person who has this competence can name the emotions they are experiencing, can cope with this emotion (e.g. find out what the message of a negative emotion is and deal with it) and even choose consciously which emotional state to be in. This competence is covered in chapters 1 & 2 of "7 Steps to Emotional Intelligence". Also see "Emotional Hostage" by Leslie Cameron.
